THE BEST TASTING ROOMS Benziger Family Winery The Benziger Family began producing wines commercially in 1981, and in 1982 won Best of Show at the Sonoma County Fair. By applying a technology-rooted philosophy to winemaking, Benziger has consistently produced some of the best wines you will find. They produce a wide selection of varietals, most, if not all, award winning. Tasting Room The tasting room, and in fact the entire winery, was once the site of Glen Ellen Winery. Benziger took over and every aspect from the polished wood tasting bar and floors, to the unique artwork, the excellent selection of wine accessories, and the friendly staff just scream quality. We were treated to an excellent variety of wines available for tasting, and the staff were very informative about the wines and winery history. It is a homey atmosphere, and you are quite likely to run into one of the Benziger family members working in the tasting room. There are walking tours of the winery and vineyards, plus a tram tour, a magnificent picnic area, and plenty of parking. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
